The club was informed on 13 March 2009 that the Tax Office for Corporations has no objections from a tax viewpoint to the submitted constitution of AGBC Berlin e.V.
We have, therefore, reached our goal – AGBC Berlin e.V. is nonprofit association.
My thanks go to all who have participated in the discussion of the constitution.
Our current event program „Global Nutrition – Global Climate – Global Energy“ (Trilogy), which deals with fundamental questions of human actions, has shown us that we can win new and old interested parties and friends for the AGBC. Also, the Senator for Education, Science and Research of the Land Berlin, represented through his State Secretary, Frau Claudia Zinke, acknowledged this, as he promised us to gain the necessary attention for the “Best-Business-Plan” in the Berlin school system.
A kick-off event is to take place on 3 June 2009 with Berlin teachers, at which we can demonstrate our expertise.
The event in February „Global Food Security – Challenges to Europe and America“, where our speaker was Dr. A. Müller, Evonik Industries AG, has shown lasting effects. The presentation, which is on our website, and which upon request I will gladly send by email, is already being used in school instruction.
I believe that the presentation in March „Climate change and agriculture: impacts, adaptation and mitigation“, delivered by Dr. Hermann Lotze-Campen, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research will have the same success.
Let me conclude with the news item which I received while composing this letter:
„The White House – Press Office – President Obama Announces More Key Administration Posts:
David Sandelow, Nominee for Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs, Department of Energy: David Sandelow is Energy & Environment Scholar and a senior fellow in the Foreign Policy Studies Program of the Brookings Institution. He is the author of Freedom of Oil (2008) and has written widely on energy and environmental policy. Sandelow is a senior advisor to Good Energy, Inc. served as Executive Vice President, World Wildlife Fund-US….”
The AGBC Berlin is mindful of its part to play in the lasting development of our world community.
